Dice 2 (final)
 |
Hayami hugs Mochizuki and says being like this makes him happy, but she pushes him away. She says he is an idiot for joking around like this and he says he is serious. Mochizuki leaves and has to think about Kuririn and Mutou again. She thinks she's happy that Mutou can be with Kuririn (because he once said she's the cutest girl in class). On the next day she sees Kuririn and Mutou again and is still very unhappy. She goes to Hayami and she says she was thinking about what he said all night and says there's no help, she wants Mutou to know about her feelings so she's going to confess to him. After school she sees Mutou and wants to talk to him, but they are disturbed by a teacher who takes Mochizuki with him. Mochizuki is surprised that Mutou is waiting for her outside later and they are walking together. She is about to confess when somebody calls Mutou by his first name (Shizuka).
Two boys ask him if she is his girlfriend but he sends them away and explains that these where friends of his brother. They talk a little more and Mochizuki realizes that Kuririn knows more about Mutou, thinks that she wants to know about him. Mutou asks what's up but Mochizuki says it's okay. While they are talking they are interrupted by a scream. It comes from Mochizuki's sister, who is bullied by some other girls.
Mochizuki goes between them and gets hit by one girl. After those girls left, Mochizuki asks Konoha (her sister) for the names and addresses of those girls but Konoha says it's none of Mochizuki's business and she should leave her alone. Mutou goes between them and says to Konoha that her sister is only worried about her. Konoha runs to her house but suddenly finds a letter and gives it to Mochizuki. It's from their father and he's writing that he tries to get his money at the casino now and so one and he hides from the loan shark and Mochizuki should keep this a secret from her mother and her sister. Of course Mochizuki is pissed about that. They realize the postmark is from Tokyo, so their father must be around there. Suddenly the young loan shark guy (from beginning of vol 1) comes and takes the letter away. He calls his boss and tells him they have found out Mochizuki's address.
Mochizuki of course is pissed about that and says she also wants to go and find her father. Mutou asks if it's okay for him to go too, so the loan shark guy is driving them. Mochizuki feels kinda excited and insecure that Mutou comes with her, but in the end she realizes that she's very happy about | it. Later Mochizuki tells the loan shark guy that they want to buy juice so they stop at a gas station. Because the loan shark guy was talking about using violence if people don't pay, Mochizuki cut the cars weels and escaped with Mutou to search for her father.
After they found him, Mochizuki's das seems to be happy to see her daughter, but at first he receives a punch from Mochizuki. At first she is very upset, but then she starts crying and says she was very concerned about him. The loan shark guy comes and comments on how cute this scene is. Mochizuki tells her dad to escape quickly and Mutou faces the loan shark guy. Mochizuki's dad suddenly says it's okay, there's no need for him to escape, he got the money together. It's really 8 000 000 yen (about 80 000 USD) and Mochizuki asks her dad if he really got all this money with gambling and he says yes. Mochizuki takes the money, runs away with it and throws it into the river. She holds a weird speech about money and that it's not the most important thing in the world and she wants her father to understand this too. The loan shark guy tells him that if he has the money together he can pay them back.. Later Mutou brings Mochizuki the money he was getting out of the water and Mochizuki's dad is really thankful, but Mutou is playing around with him at first. Then he asks Mochizuki's dad never to make her sad again. He says she's a girl who appears to be very happy, but inside she cares a lot about her family and suffers from her all the family issues and he never wants to see her cry again, he wishes to see her smiling. Mochizuki's dad understands this.
Suddenly he stops and asks Mutou if he likes his daughter, but he is just smiling (aaaw ^_^).
In the evening Mochizuki thanks Mutou for helping her. The situation is kind of awkward, because they don't know what to say. Mutou looks into the sky and comments on how pretty the stars are. Mochizuki is staring at him and calls his name. The next scene is back at school. Mochizuki is talking to her friends and says her mother came between them before she could confess. Mochizuki then sees Kuririn and goes to talk to her. I don't really understand what Mochizuki is saying here, but she is talking about confession one's love and so on. Kuririn then says that she lost against Mochizuki from the beginning and Mochizuki doesn't understand. Kuririn says the one she always loved was Hayami and Mochizuki is shocked about that. Later Kuririn goes to Hayami and they talk about that both got rejected, but Hayami means that she got rejected by Mutou. Kuririn says it was Hayami who rejected her. She says he has a cold and cruel attitude and that he hurt her a lot with what he said to her (that she was disgusting for telling him that Mochizuki loves Mutou). Kuririn then says that Mutou is a great guy which feels like a punch in his face for Hayami ^^; She says Mutou taught her what a cheerful person is, so she also won't give up. Hayami is staring at her and watches her walking away.
After school Mutou sees Kanoha at a bookstore. They talk a little and then Kanoha suddenly says she doesn't know what to do, she isn't as strong as her sister. Mutou says Mochizuki herself is not only strong. Mochizuki then meets Mutou on the streetand he tells her he just met Konoha and she said she wants to become as strong as her sister. Then Mutou tells Mochizuki that his parents also divorced and Mochizuki is surprised about that. He explains how he felt during this period of time and that now he kinda regrets that he didn't fight like Mochizuki did. He says Mochizuki is an honest person who faces her problems and that's really great. Mochizuki thinks that Mutou was the one who always cared about her worries and she thanks him for that. They continue walking and Mochizuki stops and calls his name.
She says she loves him for a long time already and continues talking and Mutou suddenly says he loves her too ^^ He turns around and walks away and Mochizuki follows him totally confused.
On the next day at school Mochizuki and Mutou are talking about the time when Kuririn confessed to Mutou. He says that he knew, Kuririn only loved and loves Hayami, so he told her not to give up on him, otherwise she would regret it one day. Okay I'll skip the next pages because it's only Mochizuki talking with Hayami in class, Kuririn making up with Mochizuki and a conversation between Mutou and the loan shark guy (it's a nice scene, but people, I'm tired already).
However they say in three years Mochizuki will be a great girl and so three years later… they are all together at highschool and Mutou turned into a guy that makes the girls go crazy (and he IS cute), but of course he's still together with Mochizuki, who makes the male students go crazy ^^.
Kuririn and Hayami also seem to be a couple, but Hayami is still likes the girls and hearing how cool he is XD. Mochizuki's dad is back home and it seems they are all getting along very well. Mochizuki now thinks that due to this love she received the highest happiness.
There's also a pretty long short story called "Shot(?) sunzen" which I won't summarize.
What is Sanae thinking about Dice vol 2?
This was such a difficult volume to translate, seriously I'm kind of proud of myself that I finished it. Now I say as it is, there are about 5 scenes where I'm insecure if what I've summarized is completely correct, but however it can't be too wrong and if you want to complain, don't read XD. No seriously, I'm sorry about that. However, this was a great volume. I truly enjoyed this Manga, it was good the way it was. It could have been a little longer (like 3 volumes), but this way it's also all right. Hope you enjoyed this Manga too, I'm looking forward to the next Ayumi Shiina story!
